Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Becker
Christoph Becker holds a full-time position as Secretary to the RAL Quality Assurance Association for the Demanufacture of Refrigeration Equipment [RAL-Gütegemeinschaft

The RAL Quality Assurance Association is an independent, not-for-profit organization that operates under the umbrella of the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification [RAL - Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung e.V.; www.ral.de]. The main area of work of the association is in developing quality assurance standards governing the recovery of ODS from end-of-life products. Christoph Becker graduated in 1985 from Bingen University of Applied Sciences with a degree in environmental engineering (Dipl-Ing.). After graduating, he worked for two years at the Saarland State Environmental Protection Office followed by four years as the head of recycling and waste management at Kaiserslautern Municipal Authority in the neighbouring state of Rhineland Palatinate in Germany. Since 1999, Christoph Becker has been Secretary to the RAL Quality Assurance Association for the Demanufacture of Refrigeration Equipment. The experience, technical expertise and understanding of quality assurance issues needed for this job were acquired during his years working for the German fridge recycling specialist SEG Umwelt-Service GmbH. Becker’s participation in the TEAP Task Force is driven by a desire to encourage the recognition and promotion of high-quality ODS recovery and destruction methodologies and to help develop instruments for the loss-minimized recovery and safe destruction of ODS from end-of-life products. Costs associated with Becker’s activities within TEAP Task Force are paid for in full by the RAL Quality Assurance Association. Christoph Becker has no financial interest or other affiliation with any company or for-profit
organisation that is either directly or indirectly involved with the main topics addressed by the
task force or that is involved in the production or operation of ODS destruction plants.
Kristian Ragnar Brüning Finland
Joined Task Force in March 2011. Kristian Brüning is a Director and Co-Founder of Climate Wedge Ltd Oy, a specialist Finnish carbon finance advisory and investment company. Climate Wedge was established in 2006 and operates out of Helsinki (Finland) and San Francisco (US), with further representation in Shanghai (China). Climate Wedge is professional services firm providing carbon finance and emissions trading related advisory services, and pursuing principal investments and project development in the carbon and environmental markets. Kristian Brüning is working full time for Climate Wedge as Director and CEO. Kristian Brüning has worked in the areas of energy corporate finance, clean energy technologies and emissions trading during the last 13 years. Kristian is in charge of Climate Wedge’s carbon asset origination and development for technology and financial industry clients. Prior to Climate Wedge, Kristian worked for McKinsey & Co on the development of their climate change practice and before that he was Assistant Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Energy Corporate Finance practice in London. Climate Wedge is the original co-author of the voluntary carbon standard (v.1) in 2006, a global protocol serving the purpose of verification and registration of emission reduction projects, which also includes a protocol for ODS destruction projects. Climate Wedge is a co-founder and minority shareholder of EOS Climate Inc. EOS Climate is a global producer of high-quality, verified emission reductions (generated from the destruction of ozone depleting substances (ODS). Climate Wedge has been advising the Nordic Environmental Finance Corporation on issues related to developing ODS management and destruction projects in Russia. Kristian’s participation in the Task Force is financed by Climate Wedge Ltd Oy.
Richard J. Cooke, P.Eng, BASC, PhD
Rick Cooke is a principle in Man-West Environmental Group Ltd, a Canadian consultancy firm involved in international environmental projects in the fields of waste management, past environmental liabilities, industrial pollution abatement, and implementation of global conventions in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. He has and is currently undertaking assignments involving the ODS phase out/destruction and the elimination of persistent organic pollutants supported by the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol and Global Environmental Facility. He is also currently undertaking work for the GEF Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel on POPs disposal technology. He has no proprietary or commercial interest in technologies associated with the above activities. Costs associated with undertaking TEAP activities are paid by his employer.
Mr. Syd B. Partridge
Syd Partridge works as Policy Manager at the Climate Action Reserve, Los Angeles, CA. He has been working on GHG offset reporting protocols and procedures since 2007, but is relatively new to the ODS sector. Syd Partridge has no proprietary or commercial interest and owns no shares in companies seeking GHG offsets from ODS destruction, or companies producing ODS or alternatives or substitutes to ODS, or products or equipment containing them. Time associated with reviewing documents and providing feedback related to participation in the TEAP are paid for by the Climate Action Reserve.
Timothy Kidman
Timothy Kidman works full-time as a climate change analyst at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). He has been working on issues related to generating greenhouse gas (GHG) offsets from the destruction of ozone depleting substances (ODS) since 2009. Timothy Kidman previously worked at the Climate Action Reserve (Reserve),
where he led development of the Reserve's ODS offset protocols for the U.S. and Article 5 countries. He has no proprietary or commercial interest in alternatives or substitutes to ODS, and except as part of managed mutual funds, he does not own shares in companies producing
ODS or alternatives or substitutes to ODS, or products or equipment containing them. Timothy Kidman has worked on the Task Force in his own time."
