Maria Saldanha joined the Ozone Secretariat as its Communications & Information Officer in July 2008, after working in the field of information processing and management with another UN agency since early 2004. She is responsible for the documentation workflow for Ozone Secretariat meetings, the set-up and content of the Secretariat’s website and most external communications; she also assists the Executive Secretary and the Administrative Officer with the management of the front office.

At the beginning of her career, Maria worked for just under two years in Corporate Finance in Milan, Italy before joining the UN World Food Programme headquarters in Rome as a Donor Relations Officer.

During her time in Rome, Maria was seconded to UNWFP Mozambique where she worked in reports and public information for four months. In June 2007, she was officially reassigned to the UNWFP Zimbabwe to work in this same area, until she joined the Ozone Secretariat in July 2008.

Maria graduated in Business Administration from Cardiff University in 2000 and then completed a postgraduate degree in Public and Media Relations at the same institution.
