I, Richard DeVos, nominated by The United States of America and residing in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, co-author of the RTOC Chapter 3: Domestic Refrigeration and co-author of RTOC Chapter 11 Sustainable Refrigeration, declare as follows:
1) I have read the Conflict of Interest and Disclosure Guidelines for the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel, its Technical Options Committees and Temporary Subsidiary Bodies (“the COI Guidelines”) as adopted by the Meeting of the Parties in Decision XXIV/8.
2) My responsibilities include
In my co-chair capacity, a significant amount of my working time is spent on RTOC issues. As a Technical Director for the GE Appliances Business, I am responsible for technical oversight for Refrigerators, Air Conditioners and Smart Appliances. I am a contributing member of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) Sustainability Standard committee responsible for AHAM 7001-2012/CSA SPE-7001-12/UL 7001, Sustainability Standard for Household Refrigeration Appliances.
GE Appliances has an interest in the topics of the Montreal Protocol because it manufactures and/or markets products which contained in their manufacture ODSs at the time the Montreal Protocol was defined and ratified. These products also may contain gases with GWP greater than 100. I have co-authored for the Household Refrigerator and Freezer chapter in the ASHRAE Refrigerator handbook. I received his B.A.Sc. mechanical engineering and have more than 37 years’ experience as an engineering technical contributor and manager on a wide scale of topics, including those directly related to the application and use of ODSs.
I do not own stock or have proprietary interest in companies producing ODS or their alternatives or substitutes, or companies developing or producing equipment that would apply (use) these.
3) This declaration constitutes my written agreement, pursuant to paragraph 8 of the COI Guidelines, to comply with the Guidelines. I understand that this written agreement is a condition of my service.

7) I undertake to disclose any material change to any of the above information, pursuant to paragraph 9 of the COI Guidelines, within 30 days of any such change.
8) I undertake to make further declarations of interest annually for so long as I remain a member of the RTOC.
9) I understand that this DOI will expire no later than one year after I have signed it.
