Product name

Ultra-low Temperature Storage Container

In which country/region it is used

Germany

Summary:

The ULT storage container (ULT -30°C to -110°C) consists of three parts:

  1. the sluice, which is actively cooled by a CO2 cooling unit to reduce the humidity in the main chamber and prevents significant energy losses during the loading and unloading of the container.
  2. the main chamber, which gets cooled by the air refrigeration machine from Mirai Intex. The latter uses only ambient air to reach temperatures down to -110°. The main chamber does have an installed air shield, so it further increases the isolation and efficiency.
  3. The machinery room in the back of the container where the cooling units and cabinets are located.

The air refrigeration machine is a pharmaceutical approved technology that is already used for ultra low temperature storage rooms, containers and pharmaceutical processes like freeze-drying and solvent recovery. The air refrigeration technology is characterized by high temperature stability +- 1K through the entire storage room and a temperature accuracy (Mirai outlet) of +- 0,5 K, as well as a part load efficiency from the use of the speed-controlled oil-free compressor-expander unit.
