Notification of intention to use the HAT exemption
The following 8 parties from Article 5 group 1 notified the Secretariat of their intention to use the HAT exemption in accordance with paragraph 29 of decision XXVIII/2:
- Benin (Withdrew request on 15th August 2024. Benin indicated that they will not need the HAT exemption, following the results of their Kigali implementation plan (KIP) preparations.)
- Chad (Withdrew request on 23rd September 2024.)
- Egypt (Withdrew request on 6th December 2024. Confirmed that Egypt does not intend to use the HAT exemption in accordance with paragraph 29 of decision XXVIII/2.)
- Eritrea
- Gambia (Withdrew request on 18th July 2024. Indicated that Gambia will not use the HAT exemption.)
- Guinea Bissau
- Nigeria (Withdrew request on 24th October 2024, after careful consideration of the implications of the HAT exemption in the context of the approval process for their KIP.)
- Senegal (Withdrew request on 6th September 2024 following the development of its KIP, and Senegal’s wish to benefit from funding for the plan’s implementation.)
