The intercomparison campaign aimed at calibrating Brewer instruments and training operators from the South America region. The activity took place from 23 February to 8 March 2024 and was organized by the Regional Brewer Calibration Center for Europe (RBCC-E) in collaboration with the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) in Brazil. Financial support for the implementation of the campaign was provided by the General Trust Fund, the Canadian Brewer Trust Fund and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) activity fund, while technical support was also provided by the WMO Global Atmospheric Watch (GAW) program.
During the campaign, nine instruments from Argentina (2) , Bolivia (1), Brazil (4), Chile (1) and Ecuador (1) were serviced and calibrated using the global reference provided by the RBCC-E, and twenty one experts from these countries received technical training.
Data collected from the instruments are being submitted to the World Ozone and Ultraviolet Radiation Data Center (WOUDC) and European Brewer Network (Eubrewnet).
