As time goes on, how do we ensure that the ozone layer is protected and is healing? Research is key to effectively monitoring progress. That’s why the Ozone Research Managers (ORM) was established at the first meeting of the Vienna Convention. This scientific forum is comprised of government atmospheric research managers and scientists who specialize in research related to ozone modifications.
The Ozone Research Managers meet every three years, six months prior to the Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Vienna Convention. Reports from these meetings include recommendations for future research and co-operation between non-Article 5 and Article 5 parties. These recommendations are presented at the Conference of the Parties to the Convention for its consideration.
