Assessment Panels

The Assessment Panels have been vital components of ozone protection since the Montreal Protocol was first launched. They support parties with scientific, technological and financial information in order to reach decisions about ozone layer protection and they play a critical role in ensuring the Protocol achieves its mandate.

The three present panels - 1. the Scientific Assessment Panel, 2. the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel, and 3. The Environmental Effects Assessment Panel - carry out assessments in their respective fields. Every four years, the key findings of all panels are consolidated in a synthesis report.
