Climate-Friendly, High Performance Building AC Chiller Update
Time Description Room / Location Level / Floor
13:00

Organizers: IGSD/NRDC

Description: Climate-Friendly, High Performance Building AC Chiller Update
Ozone-safe, low-GWP, energy-efficient building AC chillers are now available in a wide range of cooling capacities with several choices of refrigerant and manufacturer. These chillers offer excellent performance at high ambient temperatures and are affordably priced. In fact, some non-flammable solutions can exceed energy efficiencies current available with HFC and HCFC chillers. Should the Parties agree, easily-quantified energy efficiency upgrades could be financed by the Montreal Protocol Multilateral Fund (MLF) and marketed to building owners seeking low carbon footprint chiller technologies. Presentation will include a chiller technology and market update and discussion of how both A5 and non-A5 Parties can benefit from already-available products, with a focus on possible MLF support for energy efficiency upgrades.

Organizers: EPEE, AHRI and Refrigerants Australia

Description: Moving to lower GWP refrigerants: the importance of adapting codes, practice and standards and how industry can support
Heating and cooling industries are committed to providing a valuable contribution to current discussions on the reduction of HFCs emissions.
The workshop aims to provide an overview of the different HFCs’ reduction measures in place in different countries/regions of the world and an opportunity to consider the existing barriers and obstacles.
In particular, the event will be an opportunity to discuss barriers linked to standards and codes, and to exchange views on potential solutions by providing practical examples from different regions of the world.

Prioritizing natural refrigerants during HFC Phase down Amendment
Time Description Room / Location Level / Floor
13:00

Organizers: CSE

Description: Prioritizing natural refrigerants during HFC Phase down Amendment
The event intends to bring out the need for safety standards and regulations that prohibit the use of flammable or toxic alternatives in Article 5 countries to be updated to reflect increasing interest and technological advancements in natural refrigerants. While the successful use of natural substances in various applications has demonstrated their technical viability and safe operation, safety standards lag behind.
