1. Meeting on replenishment of the Multilateral Fund for the period 2021–2023, 22 & 24 May 2021

The two-day meeting to discuss the guidance to the TEAP task force on further work on the replenishment report (issued in May 2020) has now been concluded.

The next round of meetings will take place in July with the online forums on CFC-11, energy efficiency and critical use nominations active as of 31 May 2021.

A number of quality assurance test sessions have been scheduled prior to the meetings.

In case your organisation’s firewall does not allow you to receive the passcode in a timely manner, you may wish to provide an alternative email address. You can also receive the passcode on your mobile phone. Should you wish to use it instead of your email, please enter your mobile number with a ‘+’ before the country code.

  • The test sessions will be run in English only;
  • Apple Safari browser is not supported;
  • Google Chrome is recommended; Mozilla Firefox and Edge are also supported but update to the latest version;

  • Participants can join any test session but if there are too many people, then you may need to queue.

    When logging in you will be asked to complete the fields for your username.


    For parties, name should be filled in by country/party, then your full given names, for example:

2. Technical Meeting on unexpected emissions of CFC-11, 14 & 15 July 2021

The technical meeting comprising two identical sessions will focus on the reports of the SAP and TEAP with a session for questions and answers, and general statements. The SAP will also provide a brief relating to the identification of gaps in the atmospheric monitoring of controlled substances

Online forum: Unexpected emissions of CFC-11

The purpose of the forum for CFC-11 is to enable parties to comment and ask questions on the CFC-11 reports of SAP and TEAP prior to the online technical meeting on CFC-11. The Panels will then be able to consider them as they prepare for their presentations to be delivered at the meetings. Parties may also wish to pose questions and make further comments during the question-and-answer sessions at the meeting.

3. Meeting on energy efficiency: 16 & 17 July 2021

The third meeting on energy efficiency, comprising two substantially identical sessions to facilitate participation from different time zones, will focus on the TEAP presentation of its updated May 2021 report on energy efficiency, followed by a session for questions and-answers, and general statements.

Online forum: Energy Efficiency

The purpose of the forum for energy efficiency is to enable parties to comment and ask questions on the energy efficiency report of TEAP (May 2021 update) prior to the online technical meeting on energy efficiency. The Panel will then be able to consider them as they prepare for their presentations to be delivered at the meetings. Representatives may also wish to pose questions and make further comments during the question-and-answer sessions at the meeting.

Online Forum: Critical Use Nominations (CUNs)

A separate tab for CUNs in the online forum can be accessed here.

The purpose of the forum for CUNs is to enable parties to comment and ask questions on the interim report of TEAP on CUNs. The Methyl Bromide Technical Options Committee (MBTOC) will respond to the questions in writing in the online forum. Following the standard procedure, the nominating parties and MBTOC will hold bilateral consultations as necessary and MBTOC will prepare its final report on CUNs for consideration by the parties at MOP33 later in October.

Side events

The Secretariat is planning to hold a limited number of side events on any of the six days 22 and 24 May and 14 to 17 July of the OEWG43, during hours that do not coincide with any of the online sessions. Remote Simultaneous Interpretation Disclaimer

The remote simultaneous interpretation of the proceedings is provided by the United Nations for the purpose of facilitating communication, in the six official languages of the United Nations. Participants are requested to be mindful of the additional difficulties experienced by interpreters when working in remote mode and of the increased likelihood of disruptions to the audio-visual feed to the interpreters, potentially leading to the interruption of interpretation services. Only the speech or intervention in the original language is authentic and constitutes an authentic record of the proceedings. In case of any inconsistency between the interpretation and the speech or intervention in the original language, the latter shall prevail.

Interpreters using a Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) platform to service remote meetings, cannot be held liable for interruption of service, pixilation, freezing or loss of visual input, partial or complete loss of audio, audible artefacts, unauthorized access to personal or confidential data, leaking of information due to inadequate soundproofing, and/or data loss.​
